Position: Fundraising and Events Coordinator

Location: Toowoomba Hospice

Type: Permanent Part-Time (30 hours/week, Monday to Friday; occasional outside of work hours and weekends for fundraising/events) - Support services employee level 7

 

About Us

The Toowoomba Hospice is Toowoomba's only purpose-built six bed facility that provides 24-hour inpatient multi-disciplinary end of life care to anyone in the community over 18 years of age who has a terminal illness. The Hospice is a small, not for profit, organisation with a wonderful team of dedicated staff and volunteers who are passionate about providing the very best care supporting clients at the end of their lives, and such care is based on mutual respect, trust and individual needs to a variety of clients and their loved ones.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Fundraising and Events Coordinator who will be responsible for the overall the planning, coordinating and execution of fundraising events and fundraising initiatives, including post event/fundraiser evaluation.

Selection Criteria

The successful candidates would ideally be:

  • compassionate with a caring, engaging, and professional approach.

  • energetic with ability to be a leader and a drive to deliver on the organisations mission and vision.

  • committed to and able to demonstrate a knowledge of continuous quality improvement.

  • able to provide and demonstrate exceptional communication skills and customer service.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of Diploma of Events and/or equivalent work experience

  • Current drivers licence required

  • National Police Certificate

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on effective written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, time management and training skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of self- motivation and flexibility in carrying out the role

  • Excellent clerical skills

  • Ability to be a team player and be able to work alongside other staff

  • Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher, Power point, Zoom, Canva or the ability to learn.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • General administration tasks including but not limited to receipting, reception, banking, ordering of supplies and other duties as directed by the Business Manager

  • Attend networking events as required; assist in public relations and event promotions

  • Assist with in-house recognition programs/social events for staff, and the wider community in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator and Leadership Team

  • Coordinate the annual plan of events; and the development/planning/delivery of creative and profitable new fundraising initiatives

  • Draft event budget

  • Pre/during/post function and event coordination, and end of event wrap up

  • Meeting attendance, minute taking, and production as required

  • Assist with promoting the Hospice via social media platforms and website updates

  • Monthly reports

  • Newsletter production

  • Ensures full confidentiality is maintained as per Hospice policy.
