Each year the Toowoomba Hospice sends out a free-dress challenge to all the businesses, clubs, organisations and schools on the Darling Downs and in the Lockyer Valley.
Business owners, managers and staff were are encouraged to get their work gear off for the day and have a free dress day to raise money for the Hospice.
A number of great prizes are always up for grabs for the businesses, clubs, organisations and schools that raise the most money for the size of the organisation.
This is one of the Hospice's major social fundraising events and raises money to assist with the cost of daily operations at the Hospice.
Tickets include entry to the races, complimentary nibbles, a delicious dinner, dessert, tea and coffee.Prizes for best dressed female and male, and best hat prizes, along with a multi-draw raffle, ballot box auction and a live auction, all top off a wonderful day.
If you receive a phone call from a high-profile Toowoomba resident on Friday morning asking for money, don't be too concerned. They haven't been kidnapped. They are merely being held to ransom until they raise enough money for the Toowoomba Hospice.
The novel Hang Your Boss Out to Dry fundraiser will see a number of local business people placed in a cherry picker, high above the ground. They will be challenged to call in donations from friends, family and work colleagues. Only when they have raised $2,000 will they allowed back on solid ground.
Schools, Businesses, Clubs/Community Groups or Individuals on the Downs and in the Lockyer Valley are encouraged to have a Trash Ya Hair Day during the month of October.
You can colour, mousse, gel or shave your hair to raise money for the Hospice. There are some great prizes to be won for Schools, Businesses, Clubs, Community Groups or Individuals, that raise the most money!
Each year the Toowoomba Hospice organises a number of major fundraising initiatives to help cover the operational costs of our important community facility.
