Toowoomba Hospice opened our doors on 1st July 2010 and has been servicing our community for 21 years

What is a bequest?

A bequest is a gift made through a will, and a true statement of your commitment and concern for others. 

If I wish to make a bequest or gift in my will what are the steps?

Step 1: Contact our team for a private and confidential discussion on your intentions.

Step 2: Consult your legal advisor. We recommend you seek the qualified advice of an independent solicitor or legal advisor before making or revising your Will.

Step 3: Discuss it with your loved ones. Ensuring your loved ones are taken care of in your Will should always be your first priority. It is also important to discuss your decision to leave a Gift in your Will to the Toowoomba Hospice with your loved ones to ensure they understand and support your generosity.

What are the different bequest options?

You may choose to make a bequest to the Hospice in a way that suits you. for example:

The Residue - This option is when you have provided for your family and friends you may want to consider leave the residuary estate (what is left) to the Toowoomba Hospice.
A Percentage - You may wish to share your estate between a number of people and charitable organisations. Stating a percentage each one allows for infation or possible changes in your estate.
A Spectific Bequest - You may wish to state a specific sum of money, and for a specific purpose.
A Bequest of Poperty or an Asset - You may also wish to leave property, works of art or other assets from your estate.

I GIVE to the TOOWOOMBA HOSPICE ASSOCIATION INC. (ABN 76492475738) for its general puposes, free of all duties, the sum of / percentage __________ / residue of my estate / specific item(s) ___________ and I DIRECT that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper Officer of the Association shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor.
